MediaMath is currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated Corporate Finance Associate reporting to the VP of Finance and responsible for a variety of financial aspects of a rapidly-growing company. The successful candidate will thrive with minimal guidance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment by creating thoughtful and creative analyses that employ sound corporate finance principals relating to financial modeling, accounting management, corporate business profitability and key driver sensitivities as well as capital structure optimization. This candidate will need to be energetic, nimble, and comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a great group of people.
Responsibilities:
* Focus on financial modeling and forecasting methods to build complete financial models with various scenarios and investment cases for all financial statements, including Income Statement, Cash Flows, Balance Sheet, Assets and Cap Table * Provide the following support to the Management team: summaries and interpretations of actual reported results, latest estimate and budget, analysis of the resulting management cash flow v. budget and forecast, clearly explaining variances to actual, and assist in creating a global dashboard of actionable data, including an early warning system. * Manage and improve financial process and accounting requirements by operating and maintaining accounting processes, including journal entries and general ledger, payroll, billing, collections, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; bank reconciliations and closing processes; lead annual budget process; ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) * Create analysis to help identify key business drivers, vet investment requirements and improve overall business operations decision-making * Lead and recommend process improvements to: the monthly forecasting, quarterly earnings estimate, the annual budget and long-term planning process. Provide analytical support and sound financial advice on strategic cost savings initiatives * Strategic analysis on business development and investment opportunities * Analysis regarding corporate financial performance and capital structure * Assist with ad-hoc projects for senior management including presentations and key analysis * Partner with key stakeholders across the company to advance individual business insights as well as strategic corporate-level decisions
Desired Qualifications:
* 2-4 years finance and analysis experience in total from a technology company (consumer internet strongly preferred) or investments and financial services industry (investment analyst experience strongly preferred) * Extensive corporate finance knowledge and complex financial modeling and M&A transaction experience * Understanding of accounting principles and working knowledge of corporate accounting, in particular AR and AP. * B.S. in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent, from a leading undergraduate institution and a top academic performer. * Superior analytical and modeling skills, in-depth experience with financial statement analysis and an intimate working knowledge of corporate finance concepts * Extensive knowledge required in Excel and PowerPoint, QuickBooks experience a plus * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task with limited supervision * Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issues * Ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines * Excellent knowledge of consumer internet and online advertising
This position is full-time in New York City. Candidates must be US citizens or have secured appropriate work visas. Candidates must also be within daily commuting distance of Manhattan or willing to relocate.
